This mini-garden will sit happily on a windowsill and provide fresh picked berries
for years to come. The happy companionship of Tibetan Goji and Strawberry will
fruit for from 3 to 5 years with the Goji taking over to continue for many years
afterwards in your miniature mountain box. The Goji can be kept as a small bush
or moved to a larger garden in successive years. Goji is claimed to have many
beneficial effects on the body. Aside from being packed with antioxidants, proteins,
minerals and omegas, it is claimed to be efficient at stimulating the body's
immune system to fight off disease.
The dried berries are often found in health food shops
where the supply is often from China. Fresh picked fruit however, contains much
higher concentrations of nutrients than fruit even 24 hours old. One fresh picked
goji or strawberry, if eaten straight away, can contain several times the goodness
of berries bought in shops or delivered by your organic grocer.
To maintain the garden: place in front of a window
receiving at least partial sun. Water when the soil is no longer moist on the
surface. Growing berries inside will protect them from birds and squirrels who

DETAILS OF BOX SIZE AND THE PLANTS THAT FIT
THEM
The garden
box is big enough to hold a mature fruiting plant which we've pregrown
and trellised. For all boxes, beans or tomatoes growing on their vines
in soil will fit depending on light, stock and season, or sunflowers or
corn at a fruiting stage will be the mature plant choice for example,
and as well as these big mature plants, the boxes carry medium size vegetables,
herbs and salad greens. You can enjoy produce from your 2 ft box for years
to come with our CD. You'll need a space 2 feet square and either 4 feet
or 6 feet of height to house your garden box, the soil height is about
knee height at the front (20 inches) and 4 to 6 feet high at the back.
You'll need to put it where it gets some daily sun, or we can sell you
a light supplement. We can also make you a stand for your box (email us
to inquire). We also offer two smaller garden boxes (soil lower than knee
height) for those on a budget, with less mature plant selections, click
here to order the younger
£135 and the youngest
£82 garden boxes. You can still order mushrooms as an extra
with the £82 box -with the £135 box they are standard. As
with the larger boxes, we can make you a stand. The smaller boxes have
about half the soil and less plant capacity than the bigger boxes, you
need only 18 inches depth by 36 inches width of floor space by only 4feet
of height to house them. Whichever box you choose, the garden boxes make
a lovely gift for anyone who wants the experience of watching vegetables
grow without the bother of preparing and nursing the plants yourself.
We've done that for you!
You should
get a crop of oyster or shitake mushrooms 3-5 times a year for about 4-5
years. With veg, as currently fruiting plants continue over the coming
weeks, the smaller plant greens and herbs will come into their own. While
this is happening with a little watering, the next group of crops will
start emerging from the soil. We've structured them so that you can enjoy
fresh herbs and vegetables right through the coming time with our staged
plantings of seedlings and seeds. Our info
CD-care kit includes information on winter vegetables as well; there
are plenty of healthy green veg to eat through all seasons!
We get a lot
of questions about beans. Mature bean plants come already supported by
their trellis with runner varieties. Baby beans emerging from the soil
will find their own way up the trellis but you can tie them on in a pattern
if you like. Broad beans can be eaten pod and all when the beans are young.
As they age the pods become leathery, and it's best to shell them like
peas. Our info CD has a nutty creamy curry recipe for broad beans.

of questions about blackberry and other berries and goji berries too.
They can be preordered and delivered to existing boxes, and thornless
varieties are available as well - email us for details after you've ordered
your chosen box!
